Job Description:
St. Louis Catholic Academy, a K-8 Catholic elementary school located in St. Louis, MO, seeks applicants for the leadership role of Head of Academics. The Head of Academics is responsible for the overall educational program, with a specific focus on elementary school aged students. Specific areas of focus include recruitment, supervision, and professional development of teaching staff and curriculum, instruction, and assessment of students. The successful candidate will have a full-time 12 month contract starting July 1, 2024.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will have an opportunity to:

• Inspire and lead the school community toward academic excellence through effective instructional leadership.
• Assist with the recruiting, selection, supervision, and evaluation of school personnel.
• Ensure compliance of school personnel with requirements regarding teaching certifications.
• Initiate, monitor, and evaluate the school improvement plan of action and ensure proper accreditation of the school in collaboration with the school leadership team.
• Coach faculty and utilize assessment results to strengthen curriculum and instructional practices.
• Develop programs to address the unique learning needs of students.
• Develop a professional learning community to support on-going professional development.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Master’s degree in educational leadership or curriculum and instruction.
• Practicing Catholic.
• At least five years teaching experience in an elementary school setting.
• Proven experience in mentoring and leading faculty.
• Experience in curriculum development.
• Ability to use and analyze data to drive academic improvement.
• Enthusiastic about education and fostering a love of learning in students.
• Collaborative and willing to work with leadership team to build a culture of learning and support.

Context:
Salary and Starting Date: Salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience and education. The successful candidate will have a full-time 12-month contract starting July 1, 2024, with additional compensation for work completed prior to July 1.
