Primary Objectives of Position:
Primary Objectives of Position:
- To help the individual student attain self-understanding and achievement in the educational setting
- To assist in school systemic improvements to benefit all students in academic, social and emotional growth.
- Gather information from teachers to determine appropriate course placement.
- IEP conferences participation
- Student enrollment process
- Meet with parents as needed to discuss academic progress, social/emotional concerns and safe and healthy lifestyles.
- Facilitate or participate in conferences with teachers regarding student progress.
- Work with students in crisis
- Share with staff individual assessment data along with strategies for improvement.
- Provide resources to students and parents about a wide range of post-secondary opportunities.
- Assist students with college search and application process including individual planning meetings and informational programming.
- Assist, coordinate, and administer assessments including Advanced Placement (AP), PSAT, ACT and SAT.
- Coordinate with local universities to help provide dual credit opportunities.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Missouri Counselor certification required
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in counseling or related field
- Master's Degree preferred
