Position Summary
North Side Community School is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to begin in the 2024-2025 school year.  If you are an experienced educator with a passion for children of all ages, WE WANT TO MEET YOU! 
Under the leadership of the Director of Student Support Services, and in collaboration with School Leaders and Teachers, the Speech-Language Pathologist will use effective strategies to serve the needs of students with communication disorders.
Essential Functions
  • Planning and Oversight:
    • Determine and use procedures for referrals, identification, diagnosis, case termination and follow-up of Speech/Language Pathology students.
    • Establish daily schedules for assigned students according to service minutes established in the IEP.
  • Screening, Testing, Diagnosing and Advising
    • Perform initial evaluations and re-evaluations as required by federal, state, and district guidelines.
    • Analyzes and interprets information to make recommendations regarding the need for speech-language services.
    • Determines the effects of the student’s impairment in regard to accessing the general curriculum.
    • Utilize allocated coordination time to perform additional professional responsibilities including developing and updating therapy plans, holding parent conferences, staff consultations, and classroom observations.
    • Schedules interventions using a variety of service delivery models, including classroom intervention, consultation/collaboration, and pull-out as appropriate to meet student needs in the least restrictive environment
    • Consult and collaborate with members of students’ teams to monitor academic progress and
    • Design/implement IEP accommodations/modifications.
  • Managing and Conducting Therapy
    • Develop and implement an IEP (and other supporting paperwork) for each student within mandated timelines
    • Attend and serve as a member of the IEP team to determine the eligibility of students
    • Complete progress reports for each student served.
    • Maintain an individual folder for each student that contains all forms required by federal and state mandates.

Education and Certification
  • Master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology required
  • Missouri Speech and Language Pathology License required for the position 
  • Experience in pediatrics/school-based speech and language therapy strongly preferred
