Key Responsibilities
  1. Therapeutic Counseling Services:
    1. Provide individual counseling and lead social skills groups for various students.  
  2. Behavior Assessment:
  3. Conduct thorough assessments of students' behavioral challenges, collaborating with school psychologists to integrate psychological insights into the assessment process.
  4. Utilize various assessment tools and techniques to gather relevant information.
  5. Individualized Behavior Plans:
  6. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff, including school psychologists, to develop individualized behavior intervention plans tailored to each student's unique needs.
  7. Ensure plans are coordinated, cohesive, and aligned with the overall support structure.
  8. Implementation:
  9. Develop and lead the training and implementation of a system wide Restorative Justice Program.
  10. Implement behavior intervention strategies and techniques in coordination with school psychologists to address specific challenges.
  11. Collaborate on providing individual or small group counseling sessions as needed to support students in developing positive behaviors.
 
  1. Classroom Support:
  1. Work closely with teachers, school psychologists, and other support staff to ensure the seamless implementation of behavior management techniques within the classroom.
  2. Offer joint guidance, resources, and training to help educators create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  3. Data Collection:
  4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and behavior data in collaboration with school psychologists.
  5. Regularly analyze data together to track improvements and adapt intervention plans accordingly.
  6. Crisis Management:
  7. Collaborate with school psychologist in managing crisis situations and de-escalate challenging behaviors when necessary.
  8. Ensure a coordinated and supportive response to crisis events.
  9. Parent Communication:
  10. Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers in coordination with school psychologists to keep them informed about their child's progress.
  11. Provide joint strategies and resources for managing behavior at home, fostering a collaborative approach between school and home.
  12. Professional Development:
  13. Collaborate with school psychologists in staying current with best practices in behavior intervention and counseling.
  14. Actively participate in joint professional development opportunities to enhance collective skills and knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hold an LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) or LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations.
  • Knowledge of current best practices in behavior intervention and counseling.
