Employment Opportunity for the
2024-2025 School Year
Seed to Table Teacher Early Childhood Center
Supervisor: ECC School Principal
Primary Responsibilities: To lead students toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional and psychological growth and maturation in the knowledge of gardening and sustainability.
Qualifications/Experience: Minimum of a Baccalaureate Degree with special preparation and Missouri teaching certificate in early childhood education. Knowledge of garden maintenance, organic planting, fertilizing, harvesting, weed control, and pruning
processes. Knowledge of horticulture, particularly as it pertains to vegetables, fruit, annual and perennial flowers. Ability to use and maintain basic garden tools and equipment. Ability to read and follow instructions, this includes written and verbal; have strong computer skills and excellent communication practices with students, staff, and the community. Experience working with children and/or the public. Physical ability to exert 50 lbs. of force and ability to tolerate outdoor conditions.
Terms of Employment: Employed for a ten-month period as a certified educator with salary and benefits to be set by the superintendent and Board of Education.

- Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.

- Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and

- Ensure integrity of the Seed to Table project implementation and accomplishment of a goal.
- Assist in the development and implementation of the Seed to Table curriculum for classroom integration.
- Promote the connection between students and the natural world.
- Emphasize healthy food and lifestyle choices through hands on exploration and inquiry based learning.
- Collaborate with teachers, librarians, and other staff in integrating Seed to Table across the school curriculum.
- Build partnerships with community, regional, and national resources and organizations.
