JOB OVERVIEW: Responsible for providing instruction on areas such as labor relations, finance, accounting, the stock market, the economy, human resources and business operations, computer applications, spreadsheets, slideshows and word processing applications.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College or University. Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Teaching Certificate for appropriate grade level and/or subject areas.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Deliver instruction on various computer applications manager
• Deliver instruction on topics such as the principles of marketing, how to operate a business and the financial aspects of business
• Improve students’ knowledge of business practices
• Teach business topics such as basic economics, resume writing, facts about business careers, computers, the stock market, accounting and personal finance
• Deliver skills and knowledge necessary for students to function as responsible citizens in the business world
• Keep records of grades, grade papers and perform other administrative duties as needed
• Write grant proposals to gain funding for equipment and classroom supplies
• Read and stay abreast of current topics in business
• Create lesson plans
• Utilize various curriculum resources
• Integrate competencies, goals and objective into lesson plans
• Utilize curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural and linguistic backgrounds of the students served
• Develop professional relationships with other agencies and programs
• Tutor students on an individual basis
• Maintain documentation for student attendance, progress and academic assessment

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Knowledge of subject matter/course content and resources relevant to assignment
• Knowledge of and skills in using effective instructional strategies and practices
• Knowledge of and skills in implementing various formative and summative assessments
• Knowledge of entry-level positions for students; potential career opportunities; and postsecondary educational opportunities in the CTE-technical program area
• Manage and advise FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) and incorporate FBLA leadership activities into the business and technology curriculum
• Develop and maintain program budgets (student fees and FBLA) following district and building guidelines
• Foster and manage a safe, positive, and respectful learning environment for the purpose of promoting effective student behavior and success
• Demonstrate effective classroom and computer lab management
• Skills in effective planning and implementation of lessons based upon individual student needs
• Skills in data analysis to assess, monitor, and inform instruction for student growth
• Skills and abilities in organization, time management, and record keeping
• Ability to operate a computer and the skills to learn and utilize software and other technology in instruction
• Ability to articulate and implement the Common Core State Standards
• Ability to effectively address and meet a wide range of academic, social and developmental needs for all type of learners
• Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with other professionals in a team setting
• Ability to interact positively and effectively with parents, students, staff, and administrators
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to serve in the extra-curricular activities program

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT & EVALUATION: Length of contract and salary to be determined by the Certificated Employee Salary Schedule and Addendum as approved annually be the Board of Education.
