Job Description:
 NOTE:  This position is for the 2024-2025 school year. The salary will be based on the 2024-2025 salary schedule which is not yet approved by the Board of Education. The salary listed is based on the current year's salary schedule. 

Qualifications: 
  1. Bachelor’s Degree in education, Social Work, Psychology, or related field. 
  2. Graduate Degree or other advanced education degree in Social Work.
  3. Knowledge and successful use of current research-based instruction, trauma informed, and behavioral strategies. 
  4. Leadership and organizational skills. 
  5. Ability and desire to work as a contributing member of a team. 
  6. Ability to effectively coach and mentor educators. 
  7. Ability to provide engaging research based professional development. 
  8. Knowledge of and ability to implement de-escalation techniques. 
  9. Knowledge of and ability to implement behavior management techniques. 
  10. Ability to interact and collaborate with staff, students and families in a professional manner.

Building principal and District Social Worker 
 
Job Goal: 
Job of interventionist is done for the purpose of providing support to the instructional program with specific responsibilities for assisting teachers and administrators by providing prevention and intervention services to students with behavioral issues; coordinating the Behavior Intervention Support Team (BIST) with at-risk youth and proactively addressing students’ needs. 
 
Performance Responsibilities: 
  • Build relationships with students, foster student to student community relationships, and student to teacher relationships.
  • Assists teachers in managing students whose behavior is out-of-control for the purpose of maintaining a calm school environment and ensuring students' success.
  • Communicates with a variety of personnel (e.g. students, parents, teachers, administration, other staff, etc.) for the purpose of expressing concerns, resolving issues and developing plans for student success.
  • Intervenes with students experiencing chronic behaviors for the purpose of de-escalating crisis situations, processing the situation, providing alternatives, and returning the student to regular studies as quickly as possible.
  • Provides individual and group support to students and parents for the purpose of preventing, addressing and resolving behavioral issues.
  • Actively participates in behavior intervention meetings and professional development.
  • Collects data and records anecdotal student progress notes and maintains behavior charting data as needed.
  • Observes and determines needed services for the purpose of recognizing the need for prevention and involving others in the planning and delivery of prevention activities.
  • Utilizes district approved behavior management techniques (e.g. talking problem through, teaching students coping skills, physically supporting, etc.) for the purpose of assisting students. 
  • And all other duties as assigned.
Terms of Employment: Full Time - 188 Days (2 extra contract days for training - Specific Training with Counselors)

Min & Max Starting Salary:  $41,543.00 - $73,658.00
