Gasconade County R-1 Schools is seeking applicants for a Special Education Teacher for our Middle School, focused on ELA, for the 2024-2025 school year.  If you want to make a difference in a student's life by delivering high quality instruction and providing academic, emotional and physical services for students who require additional support to thrive in school, apply now! This position will work primarily in the Middle School, where we educate approximately 300 students in grades 4th - 8th.  
 
In this position, you will create a flexible instructional program and a positive class environment favorable to learning and personal growth. In addition, it is critical to establish a caring and positive rapport with students assigned to the classroom and motivate pupils to develop attitudes and knowledge needed to ensure that effective learning occurs for each child, every day.  You will work with other faculty, staff, and parents as applicable in developing and implementing focused development plans (ex: Individual Education Plans (IEP)). 
 
Strong oral and written communication skills, a passion for helping students succeed, ability to work with a variety of technology systems and a Bachelor's degree in Special Education with applicable certifications is required. All applicants must apply online.
