Job Description:
The Ferguson Florissant School District is seeking an outstanding educator for the position of In-School Suspension Supervisor. The In-School Suspension Supervisor will provide support to the instructional program with specific responsibility for overseeing the “In-School Suspension” Program and assigned students; documenting student behavior; and providing information to teachers, parents and/or other personnel.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Identify issues and methods for increasing student success.
2. Implements under the supervision of assigned teacher, behavioral plans designed for students with behavior disorders or other special conditions for the purpose of presenting and/or reinforcing learning concepts.
3. Monitors students during assigned periods for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment.
4. Provides verbal and written feedback of observations for the purpose of informing teacher/s, Assistant Principal, and/or parents of students’ activities.
5. Tutors students on assigned class work for the purpose of providing ongoing support in the completion of work assignments.

 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. Missouri Substitute Certificate or Teaching Certificate in any subject
2. Excellent human relation skills
3. Experience with underrepresented students
4. Experience with student intervention programs
5. Classroom Management skills
6. Must have a working knowledge of computers.
7. Verbal and written communication skills.
8. Skilled at organizing and planning of work, detail oriented, communicates in a positive manner with others, and works well under high stress situations.

 
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Serve as a facilitator of several students.
2. Serve as an instructor of a class.
3. Supervise students and conduct programs as assigned. 
4. Create, use, and assist with instructional books, packets, and materials for the classroom.
5. Other duties as assigned by the Principal and Office of Secondary Education.
