The Pleasant Hill School District is currently seeking applicants for the position of:
Special Education Process Coordinator 24-25 School Year
The special education process coordinator provides support to staff, parents and students with disabilities. This position will manage the process of special education referrals and evaluations; develop appropriate programming for students from the IEP process through placement; and will ensure provision of a free appropriate public education (FAPE) to all students who qualify for special education. The coordinator ensures compliance with federal, state and local requirements.

Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Special Education or related field, preferred
- Missouri Special Education Certification
- Strong knowledge of special education law and compliance
- Ability to problem solve and make data-driven decisions
- Ability to build positive working relationships with students, parents, and staff
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to handle information with utmost confidentiality
- Supervise and coordinate all aspects of special education process
- Participates in building teams in their review of data for the purpose of providing best practice decisions for instruction as well as to support students (RtI, CPI).
- Collaborates with district personnel, other districts, community and state agencies for the purpose of implementing and maintaining services and/or programs.
- Coordinates program components, support needs and material for the purpose of delivering services that conform to federal and state regulations and established district guidelines.
- Facilitates meetings and professional development activities (e.g. department/support meetings, district staff meetings, IEP meetings, conduct reevaluation meetings as necessary, etc.) for the purpose of implementing and maintaining programs and services which achieve the district's desired objectives.
- Implements and evaluates special education programs and/or projects for the purpose of carrying out and achieving objectives of the district.
- Manages assigned programs and/or services for the purpose of achieving outcomes in relation to
- program objectives and ensuring conformance with legal and district requirements and provision of services.
- Prepares a wide variety of written materials (e.g. quantity reports, student activities, correspondence, data analysis, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying information.
- Researches a variety of topics in curriculum and instructional practices for the purpose of providing information, recommendations, and/or addressing a variety of program requirements.
- Understands and adheres to all Board policies and procedures.
- Collaborates with district personnel and other districts (e.g. IEPs, referrals, etc.) for the purpose of implementing and maintaining services and/or programs.
Length of contract: 189 Days
