Substitute Teacher
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Teacher Certification Preferred but not required.
- Must have Substitute Certificate from DESE.
- The District will also consider students currently in their final year of the Teacher Education Program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follows the regular plans and schedule as closely as possible.
- Try to maintain a neat, orderly attractive environment.
- Leave a statement of the work covered, together with any comment about special difficulty or outstanding cooperation, and work finished.
- Keep accurate attendance records.
- Maintain good classroom discipline.
- Leave equipment in proper place.
- Refrain from discussing teachers’ methods or ideas in or out of the classroom.
- Refer requests from parents for student progress to the teacher.
- Check teachers’ mailbox for bulletins, announcements and special arrangements.
- Supervise students at all times.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all students and parental matters.
- Comply with district approved curriculum and adhere to adopted Board of Education policies.
- Other duties may be assigned.
