Job Description:
Gateway Science Academy Smiley, a PreK through 5th grade building located at 6576 Smiley Avenue, is seeking an Assistant Principal of Academics for the 2024-2025 school year. The APA is responsible for all areas of academic programming in the school and works closely with the Principal and Assistant Principal of School Culture.
The APA role includes, but is not limited to the following:

• Attend parent teacher conferences
• Assist and organize professional development/teacher orientation
• Participate in the selection and implementation of educational resources
• Arrange for subs on a daily basis
• Creating and entering schedule into SIS
• Analyzing data
• Meeting with teachers during PLC to discuss assessments, action plans, goals and provide support in different instructional strategies to use in the classroom
• Conducting teacher observations
• Monitoring instructional plans
• Monitoring implementation of curriculum
• Monitoring Special Education and ELL implementation and programs
• Monitoring Title I implementation and programs
• Coordinating testing for district and state assessments
   

Successful candidates will possess, or be willing to pursue, a Missouri Elementary Administrator certificate. Administrative experience preferred. Employment decisions are pending until satisfactory completion of background check.
