K-8 Part-Time Music Teacher

Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate and inspire passion towards music and art in students.
• Teach music curriculum for grades K-8 while adhering to state music standards.
• Implement the musical components of music theory, history, rhythm and performance.
• Adjust curriculum components to best utilize personal strengths and the strengths of the community.
• Create an irresistible classroom environment of inquiry, respect, and collaboration.
• Strive for excellent and effective collaboration with other teachers and leadership.
• Model real-life success skills like communication, self-awareness, and decision-making.
• Cultivate strong communication and relationships between students, parents and staff.
• Coordinate and lead both the Christmas and Spring productions, including leading after-school rehearsals

Qualifications and Educational Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in music or music education, required.
• Current state teaching certification in one or more of the following areas: music education, secondary, elementary, early childhood, or special education.
• Ability to evaluate students’ needs and thrive in a personalized teaching environment.
• Must possess strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Strong Christian values; a desire to share God’s love with children.

Work Schedule:
Part-time work schedule: 16 hours per week usually broken in to two full days, during the 2024-2025 school year. Some flexibility in the days of the week. During the weeks leading up to the Spring and Christmas productions, additional hours and flexibility will be required.
