PECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER - Applications are being accepted for the position of Special Education Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year.

JOB GOAL: Provide support to the instructional process by serving as a Special Education Teacher with specific responsibility for assisting students in learning the appropriate subject matter and skills that will contribute to the student’s development.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized and small group instruction targeted to the needs of each student.
2. Participates in curriculum review and design as required.
3. Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning.
4. Analyzes test data to enhance student achievement.
5. Administers subject-specific assessments, and district and state assessments to assess student competency levels and develop individual learning plans.
6. Monitors student progress and adjusts instruction accordingly.
7. Collaborates with professional learning communities, administrators, instructional staff, other school personnel, and parents/legal guardians to improve the overall quality of student achievement.
8. Provides progress reports on each student as required by Mexico Public Schools as well as maintaining accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
9. Refers to students for alternative services as provided by Mexico Public Schools.
10. Monitors students in a variety of educational environments to provide a safe and positive learning environment.
11. Models appropriate behaviors and responsibility to demonstrate appropriate social and interpersonal behavior.
