Mexico Public Schools is now accepting applications for District Attendance Coordinator position for the 2024-2025 school year.
 
 
REPORTS TO:  Elementary Administrators
 
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:  Working at all three elementary schools
 
General Purpose:  Promote regular, two-way, meaningful communication between home and school. 
 
      Main Job Task and Responsibilities:
 
  1. Promote a safe and open atmosphere for parents/families to visit the school their children attend, and actively solicit parent/family support and assistance for school programs.
  2. Guidance to families to use available community resources to strengthen and promote school programs, family practices, and the achievement of students.
  3. Promote recognition that parents/families play an integral role in assisting their children to learn.
  4. Actively participate in the monthly interagency meetings.
  5. Assist administrators in communication with parents for discipline issues helping to keep the parent involved with the the process and encouraging their support.
  6. Assist in planning positive promotions and encouraging parents to be a part.
  7. Bullying education for  students and parents
  8. Assist elementary in planning and promoting all parent activities
  9. Actively involved with Bright Futures for the three elementary schools.
  10. Assist all three elementary schools during registration time in contacting families to come and get registered.
  11. Assisting with homeless/foster new students' families to be sure all needs are being addressed.
  12. Assist all three elementary schools with excessive absences in a family - promoting attendance.
  13. Building relationships with students and with parents.
  14. Create and send out parent surveys at the end of every year, evaluating communication between parents and school.
  15. Other tasks that may be assigned by the administrators. 
 
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine-month 
 
 
EVALUATION: The performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of  
the Board’s policy on the Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
