Job Description:

SUMMARY: Reports directly to the building principal or his/her designee. Performs tasks associated with instructing elementary students in library skills and procedures according to the library policies and procedure manual.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develops library collection based on curricular needs.
• Conducts class and individual instruction of library skills.
• Performs tasks related to cataloging and processing of library materials.
• Maintains library collection, including inventory and weeding.
• Ensures efficient operation of the library, including department chairperson duties and employment management.
• Coordinates technology and media for the library. Performs other duties as assigned.

• Minimum of a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree.
• Missouri Teaching Certificate.
• Missouri Library Certificate and/or Media Technologist Certificate (minimum of 18 hours in Library Science).
• At least two years of successful teaching experience. Acceptable personal traits (speech, character, attitude, and organizational skills).
• Successful completion of a background check by Human Resources.
