Faculty, 3rd Grade Teacher
Begins August 2024


Pembroke Hill School seeks a joyful, dedicated educator to join its lower school team as a third grade teacher. In partnership with a full-time assistant, the third grade teacher leads a homeroom of up to 22 students. In addition to teaching language arts, math, and social studies, they support each student’s social-emotional and executive function development and maintain clear, positive, and ongoing communication with each student's family.

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; education related or equivalent experience in education.  Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two years experience as a lead teacher at the elementary level.  
  • Demonstrated ability and comfort level with various technology skills. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
  • Experience with the 6+1 Traits of Writing preferred.
  • Knowledge of research on the science of reading and its application.
  • Experience leading and directing an assistant in the classroom is preferred.
  • Understand a holistic view of children, have an understanding of the developmental issues of elementary students, a passion for integrated learning and a thorough understanding of differentiation.
