REPORTS TO: Building Principal
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
General Purpose:
To provide gifted students with advanced learning and enrichment activities, experiences, and
opportunities in specifically designated areas of curriculum, helping those students use their
special intellectual gifts as fully as possible.

Main Job Task and Responsibilities:
- Meets on a regularly scheduled basis with students identified as being capable of work in the area of competence at a level higher than that of the regular curriculum.
- Sets up such problems, experiments, projects, and activities related to student needs, interests, and capabilities.
- Identifies areas of student strengths and weaknesses, and plans further learning experiences and activities.
- Supervises students in the preparation and execution of independent study projects in the area of special competence.
- Arranges for field trips as appropriate and feasible.
- Processes and maintains such classroom textbooks, supplies, and materials as are needed, following established school procedures.
- Annually identify students eligible to participate in the gifted program and arrange for placement.
- Complete all state applications/forms for continued funding of program
- Confers with the department head on student evaluation as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
