Mexico Public Schools is now accepting applications for Elementary Teacher positions for the 2024-2025 school year.
 
QUALIFICATIONS: 1.) Bachelor’s degree in job related area   2.) Valid Missouri Teacher Certificate for 1st to 5th grade
 
REPORTS TO: Principal
 
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: New teachers 185 (includes 4 holidays) days with benefits provided according to Mexico Public Schools. New teachers are required to attend New Teacher Week in addition to the 185 days.
 
Job Goals: Provide supervision and academic instruction to individual and small groups of students in a co-teaching environment. Instruction will be given in a variety of subjects, including social/emotional education. The teacher will implement personal education plans and behavior plans by using a variety of behavioral strategies and alternative programs. 
 
Essential Functions:
 

1. Provides supervision to students in educational settings.
2. Provides individual and small group instruction to students. 
3. Assists in the implementation of individual education plans and behavior plans. 
4. Plans daily instructional activities for individual and small groups of students and aligns those plans to the needs of the students.
5. Works collaboratively with school and agency counselors, teachers, administrators, parents and related service providers in the overall educational plan for students to include lessons that address the student’s behavioral needs. 
6. Maintains student records and files in a confidential manner.
7. Keeps accurate documentation regarding student progress, needs, strengths, etc. (i.e. grades, observations, anecdotal records, other related data).
8. Communicates with parents, teachers, administrators, and related service providers on an as-needed basis.
9. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

FLSA STATUS: Exempt
SALARY GRADE: Teacher
