CONTRACT/SALARY: $115/day on an as needed basis
REPORTS TO: Building Principal / Substitute Coordinator
POSITION SUMMARY: To help students learn subject matter and/or skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able and responsible members of society.

POSITION SUMMARY: To help students learn subject matter and/or skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able and responsible members of society.
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:
- Minimum 60-hours college credit
- Valid Missouri Substitute Teacher Certificate prior to start date required
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with personnel, students, and patrons in individual and group settings
- Follows substitute lesson plans provided by the regular classroom teacher.
- Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
- Develops and maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within the limits of the resources provided by the district.
- Assists the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct, and, for the classroom, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
- Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
- Strives to implement by instruction and action the district's philosophy of education, curriculum, instructional goals and objectives.
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
- Assists in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and Board policy.
- Establishes and maintains cooperative relations with others.
- Other duties as assigned by the building principal.
