Job Description:
The Johnson County R-VII School District is seeking a Registered Nurse to serve as the District Health Coordinator.  This position has full benefits.

Required Qualifications:

• Licensed Registered Nurse
• Current certification in CPR
• Ability to comply with the code of ethics of the nursing profession and to uphold and implement school rules, state laws, administrative regulations and board policies
• Ability to provide leadership in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of a comprehensive school health program

Preferred Qualifications:

• Nursing experience with adolescents and related issues
• Registered Nurse
• AED certification

QUALIFICATIONS DESIRABLE CANDIDATES SHOULD POSSESS

1. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing which incorporates pharmacology courses into the curriculum.
2. Maintenance of a professional licensure, in good standing, with Missouri State Board of Nursing.

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED

1. Document pertinent information in student charts and in other designated places of record.
2. Administer first aid and emergency first aid to students, and, when warranted and in keeping with guidelines, to staff.
3. Dispense medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician.
4. Apply knowledge of medication dosage, side effects, etc.
5. Record medications/treatments in keeping with established procedures.
6. Ensure the district is in compliance with state and local laws and policies.
7. Oversee the medical services for PreK-12 students.
8. Strong communication skills with students, parents, community health services, and staff.
9. Exceptional organization skills needed.
10. Facilitate the District Wellness Committee
