Pattonville School District is seeking a passionate and dedicated 6th grade Mathematics/ Science Teacher to join our team. Position Summary: The 6th grade Mathematics/Science Teacher, under the general supervision of the school principal(s), develops students' skills and competence in science and in basic and complex mathematical principles, including equations, formulas, and calculations. The position promotes student understanding of the application of mathematics and scientific concepts to practical, real-world problem solving through engaging, standards-aligned instruction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Designs and delivers mathematics curriculum aligned with district goals, objectives, and instructional standards.
- Provides high-quality instruction using appropriate instructional materials and strategies to maximize student learning and instructional time.
- Establishes and maintains a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that supports whole-group, small-group, and individualized instruction.
- Teaches mathematical knowledge and skills, including concepts such as real and imaginary numbers, formulas, calculations, and geometry, while promoting critical and creative thinking.
- Designs learning activities that demonstrate the application of mathematics to real-world problem-solving.
- Integrates scientific concepts and practices through learning activities such as research projects, demonstrations, experiments, and laboratory experiences, as appropriate to the curriculum.
- Monitors and assesses student progress on an ongoing basis and adjusts instructional methods to meet individual student learning needs.
- Implements district-adopted curriculum, instructional resources, and assessments with fidelity.
- Maintains accurate, complete, and timely records of student achievement, grading, and attendance in accordance with district and building procedures and policies.
- Builds and maintains effective communication with students and parents/guardians to encourage family engagement and support student success.
- Implements and enforces school and district behavior expectations to promote a positive and effective learning environment.
- Collaborates professionally with colleagues, performs assigned building duties, and participates in required staff meetings, professional learning communities, and district/building initiatives.
- Engages in ongoing professional development to remain current with best practices, instructional strategies, and developments in mathematics education.
- Selects and requisitions appropriate instructional materials and learning tools consistent with district curriculum requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or masters degree from an accredited college or university.
- Missouri Elementary Certification 1-6 certification
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and student success.
Additional Duties:
- Performs other related tasks as assigned by the principal(s).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiated instruction based on student learning styles.
- Knowledge of elementary school reading curriculum and concepts.
- Ability to use learning software applications as needed.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students and their parents/guardians.
- Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others.
