Job Description:
The Wellington-Napoleon R-IX School District is seeking a certified teacher to teach Physical Education and Health for 6-12 grade students.  The current schedule is two sections of Health, two sections of Physical Education, and two sections of High School basic level Math.  However, based on skill set, the teaching role may or may not include the two sections of Math.  This hire will be expected to coach at least one sport, with multiple coaching opportunities available, with the possibility of future head coaching openings included.  

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor degree or higher
• Appropriate Missouri Teaching Certificate
• Knowledge of state standards, federal and state regulations and law
• Knowledge of subject matter content and assessment strategies
• Knowledge of best practices in curriculum and instruction
• Ability to relate to students, staff, and parents in   a positive manner
• Ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written form
• Ability to follow written and oral communication 
• Ability to problem solve

An individual who holds this position is required to:

• Provide Physical Education instruction to 6-12 grade students
• Provide Health Instruction to 9th-12th grade students
• Create and implement a classroom management plan
• Create lesson plans and activities to implement and supplement instruction
• Participate in building, grade level and subject area committees as needed
• Participate in professional development activities
• Maintain accurate student records 
• Complete and submit forms and required reports in a timely manner
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and/or other educational concerns
• Participate as a member of an IEP team, 504 team or other student assistance teams as requested
• Implement special educational plans such as 504 plans, individual educational programs and individual health plans
• Prepare lesson plans for use by a substitute teacher
• Subject area teachers may have additional duties and responsibilities
