St. Charles Community College invites qualified candidates to apply for the full-time History Faculty position to begin Fall 2024 for the 2024-2025 academic year. This position will be responsible for developing and teaching American History survey courses, African American History, Women in American History, and World Civilization I-IL. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, student learning, assessment, and the use of technology in the delivery of instruction to improve student learning outcomes. The successful candidate will also demonstrate the use of varied teaching techniques that help students develop critical thinking, research skills and understand the relevance of history in their lives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Faculty are responsible for instruction, grading, record-keeping, and compliance with legal and institutional obligations. Instructors should expect to meet all deadlines and to use standard software, including the Microsoft Office suite, as appropriate. Instructors must conduct all activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity of people, styles, and views:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:
Salaries: Instructor $58,315; Assistant Professor $64,238; Associate Professor $70,620 - Rank will be assessed at the time of hire based on years of experience and education based on pre-determined criteria.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:
- Master's Degree in United States History or American Studies or
- At least 18 hours of approved coursework in American History.
- Ph.D. in History or American Studies, with a focus in American History:
- Community College Teaching Experience:
- Demonstrated excellence in online teaching and are Quality Matters (QM) certified:
