Job Description:
Southern Boone Middle School is seeking a dedicated Reading Interventionist to support students in grades 5–8. The Reading Interventionist plays a key role in improving student achievement in reading, with a focus on Tier II and Tier III instruction. This position involves planning for and providing individualized and small-group instruction to students who are struggling academically, as well as monitoring, reporting, and communicating student progress and performance.

Southern Boone Middle School is seeking a dedicated Reading Interventionist to support students in grades 5–8. The Reading Interventionist plays a key role in improving student achievement in reading, with a focus on Tier II and Tier III instruction. This position involves planning for and providing individualized and small-group instruction to students who are struggling academically, as well as monitoring, reporting, and communicating student progress and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and provide targeted reading instruction to students identified for Tier II and Tier III reading interventions.
- Deliver both individual and small-group lessons to address specific skill deficits.
- Conduct formal and informal assessments to identify student needs and monitor progress.
- Collaborate with teachers and administrators to support the effective implementation of the district curriculum.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with staff and parents.
- Create and maintain reading plans for students.
- Valid Missouri teaching certification in an appropriate grade level and subject area.
- Strong understanding of reading instruction and intervention strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction to meet varied student needs.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to building positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Student-centered philosophy focused on supporting academic growth and success.
