Title: Campus Custodial Supervisor
Reports To: Campus Principal or designated Principal(s) / Associate Principal(s)
Supervises: Custodians who are assigned to a campus.
Position Purpose:
To provide through others the upkeep, maintenance, cleanliness, safety and security of the assigned building so a safe, clean environment will be available for teaching and learning.
Qualifications:
(The incumbent may be required to use the below requirements during any part of the working day.) Reading, writing, speaking, hearing, manual dexterity, bending/stooping, walking, reaching, pushing/pulling, climbing, kneeling.
12 months; salary and work year to be determined by the Board of Education.
Evaluation:
Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the board policy on evaluation of Support Service Personnel

- Ability to train, motivate and work effectively with those receiving supervision and school personnel.
- Demonstrates oral and written communication skills.
- Possess communications and team building skills.
- Ability to follow and give instructions.
- Understanding of custodial duties.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards, safety precautions, hazardous materials and proper ways to perform the assigned duty.
- Ability to work independently according to prescribed standards and procedures.

- This position is rated as a Level 4 position. The incumbent must be able to score a 4 or higher on the physical capacity test,
- The incumbent must be able lift/carry 50 to 100 pounds occasionally, 25 to 50 pounds frequently, and 10 to 20 pounds continuously.
- Individuals scoring between a 3 and 4 on the physical capacity test are still eligible for this position and limited to Level 3 work unless assisted.
- The incumbent in these situations must be able lift/carry 20 to 50 pounds occasionally, 10 to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds continuously.
- The physical requirement revision was requested and approved by the worker compensation committee on 11-17-2015.
- Failure to comply with the physical limits established by the physical capacity test will result in disciplinary action for unsafe practice.
- Supervise and evaluate performances of custodial staff and cooperate with principal(s) in staff evaluations.
- Schedule and assign responsibilities for building housekeeping duties.
- Coordinate with principal or designee all special events.
- Inspect areas in and around campus to ensure quality of custodial service.
- Plan and schedule summer clean-up.
- Oversee the care and maintenance of sports stadium and/or building grounds.
- Respond to requests for services in a timely manner.
- Insure the requisitions and maintains the proper supply of custodial materials and equipment.
- Respond to staff or administrative requests in a courteous and helpful manner.
- Provide leadership and training for custodial staff.
- Exhibit knowledge of school policies and procedures.
- Prepare reports and maintenance records as assigned.
- Coordinate all building maintenance activities.
- Monitor budget expenditures and recommend future budget needs to principal.
- Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of campus.
- Ensure routine maintenance is performed.
- Report any unsafe condition or needed building repair via work order to the

- Prepares reports and maintains records as assigned.
- Ensures the campus is open and secure at the proper times.
- Assist in snow removal or other related duties as necessary.

- Consult with the supervisor about various job and personnel problems.
- Maintain confidence on personnel matters.
