Job Description:
Painter – Facilities Department
12 Month Position
January, 2026

Position Summary:  Responsible for painting, repairing and maintaining all painted interior and exterior surfaces throughout the District.

Education and Experience: 

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Requires completion of Asbestos Awareness Program
• Job-related prior experience required

Essential Job Functions include the following: Other Duties May Be Assigned

• Determines proper procedures and products to be applied.
• Prepares surrounding environment to protect from splatter or spill of paint or paint-related products.
• Prepares surfaces for painting.
• Applies paint to walls, ceilings, lockers, equipment, etc., using brushes, rollers and/or sprayers.
• Repairs drywall to include bracing, hanging and refinishing.
• Patches and repairs plaster surfaces.
• Leads summer painting projects and the helpers assigned to the projects.
• Lays-out and paints playground stripes.
• Assists other maintenance personnel as needed.
• Serves as a substitute custodian as needed.

COMPENSATION FOR EXPERIENCE IS CONSIDERED, 2025-2026 Classified Salary Schedule
