Position Summary
Working about 17 hours per week, assisting in the Simulation Lab, assisting with ordering, stocking and organizing supplies, providing clinical instruction for students, and assisting faculty with lab skills practice and check-offs.
Key Performance Indicators
Ability to relate quickly and tactfully to a variety of people, including the general public and colleagues.
Interpersonal skills:
Ability to work independently and collaboratively to plan, organize, coordinate and implement nursing programs.
Identify and express problems and develop recommended solutions from alternative methods and procedures.
Ability to communicate diplomatically, clearly, and effectively both verbally and in writing with a wide variety of people.
Ability to organize and express instructions in a logical sequence to describe how something works or explain how to perform a task.
Ability to manage groups of students.
Technical skills:
Ability to teach Fundamentals of Nursing, Pharmacology, Therapeutic Nutrition, Medical Surgical Nursing, Maternity Nursing, Contemporary Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, and other nursing courses.
Ability to assess student work
Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, at a high-level

Position Summary

Key Performance Indicators
- Consistently higher than average Missouri State Board of Nursing Exam pass rates
- Build and maintain positive partnerships with medical facilities
- Retention of students in Allied Health programs
- Submission of grades timely
- Maintain and seek to improve Allied Health program equipment
- Maintain compliance with State Board of Nursing Minimum Standards.
- Provide laboratory instruction, supervision and evaluation of students.
- Maintain confidentiality of student and patient records.
- Maintain clinical and educational competencies in areas of instruction.
- Attend formal training in the pedagogy of simulation.
- Conduct theory-based debriefing.
- Incorporate best practice and evidence-based research in simulation development.
- Keep track of the lab login usage program.
- Utilize equipment and supplies to create a realistic environment.
- Provide input in the educational competencies in areas of instruction.
- Provide input in the development of departmental and institutional policies.
- Prepare assignments for students in the clinical areas.
- Keep up to date on policies and procedural changes in the clinical area.
- Work cooperatively with other faculty members and nursing service personnel in the health care facilities.
- Collaborate with other faculty to maintain that simulations are meeting objectives.
- Provide input on program related policies regarding budget, recruitment, admission, retention, promotion and graduation of students.
- Recruitment for Allied Health programs when available.
- Maintain close contact with full-time health professions faculty, staff, and coordinators while instructing students.
- Evaluate student lab performance and document student experiences, skills attained, and areas of concern on clinical evaluation form.
- Add patients to Electronic Health Records through ATI training system, make barcodes for medicines, stock and maintain Pyxis systems.
- Assist faculty in grading EHR assignments and provide detailed feedback.
- Assist with the Systematic Evaluation Plan.
- Assist in the lab with skill check-offs & simulations
- Assist with student practice and skills check-off for IV therapy in the summer.
- Conduct tours of the Sim/lab areas when available.
- Assist with grants when needed & keep track of data needed if granted money provided.
- Assist with spreadsheet of equipment & signing out of equipment.
- Maintain professional presence and demeanor.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
