The Pleasant Hill School District is currently seeking applicants for the position of:
High School Varsity Cheer Coach
2025-2026
Position Summary:
The Head Cheer Coach is responsible for leading, developing, and managing the Pleasant Hill School cheerleading program, wich includes sideline cheer (football and basketball season) and competiive cheer. This individual must be an experience cheer coach with strong organizational skills, effective communication, and a committment to developing student-athletes within an educationally based activity program. The coach will serve as a role model, teaching teamwork, discipline, resilience, and school pride, while fostering a safe and positive environment for all student-athletes.
Qualifications:
Previous Cheer Coaching experience required
Strong knowledge of cheer technique, safety standards, and MSHSAA/NFHS guidelines
Ability to develop athletes holistically - skills, character, teamwork, and leadership
Excellent organizational skills and ability to design/implement a yearly program plan
Strong communication skills with students, parents, administration, and community stakeholders
Ability to manage assistant coaches and collaborate with the Activity Office
Certified as a coach according to the guidelines presented in the MSHSAA handbook (sec 3.1).
Program Duties and Responsibilities:
Football Season Sideline Cheer - August throug November
Basketball Season Sideline Cheer - November through March
Competitive Cheer - Year-round planning with competition season (Fall/Winter)
Additional Off-Season planning, camp, and summer development as required
