Middle School Business Education Teacher Description 
 
The Ferguson-Florissant School District is a community of families and neighborhoods located in suburban St. Louis, MO. Fully-accredited by the state of Missouri, the district provides an excellent comprehensive educational program for nearly 10,000 students from preschool through 12th grade. The district is comprised of seven primary schools (PreK-2), six elementary schools (3-5), two sixth grade centers, two middle schools (7-8), two high schools and one alternative school as well as a nationally-recognized early education program, the PROBE gifted education program, the award-winning Challenger Learning Center, Little Creek Nature Area, the Innovation School at Cool Valley, a STEAM middle school and a STEAM high school.

As Business Education Teacher, you will have a passion for teaching adolescents and a strong foundation in business concepts, such as entrepreneurship, personal finance, marketing, and basic economics. This educator will foster critical thinking, creativity, and real-world problem-solving in a supportive, student-centered environment and assist students through career exploration as they prepare for future pathways.

Position Overview Reports To: Building Principal
 
Employment Terms:  This is a 187-day position compensated according to the Teacher Salary Schedule, as outlined in district policy and the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Salary is determined based on the employee’s experience and education. Continued employment is subject to annual evaluation in alignment with this job description.
 
FLSA: Exempt 
 
Retirement: PSRS
 
Salary:  $43,000 per year minimum, based on education, experience, and certifications 
 
Calendar: 10-month contract (August-May) 
 
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Education, Business Administration, Education, or a related field required

• Master’s degree in Education or a Business-related field preferred
• Experience with Career Technical Education (CTE) preferred
• Familiarity with student co-curricular organizations (e.g., Future Business Leaders of America) preferred

CERTIFICATES/LICENSES:
Valid MO State Certification for Teaching in Business Education in the grade level assigned required
