Position Summary:
The School Counselor / Social Worker supports the academic, social-emotional, and spiritual growth of students while strengthening family-school partnerships. This role is divided equally between direct student counseling and social work services for families, with a focus on community connections and wraparound supports in alignment with the mission of the Catholic Church.

Key Responsibilities:
Student Counseling (50%)
- Provide short-term, individual, and small-group counseling to address academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and spiritual needs.
- Implement developmentally appropriate guidance lessons and interventions to promote positive school culture.
- Collaborate with teachers and administrators to develop strategies that support student success.
- Maintain confidential, accurate records of student counseling activities in compliance with ethical and legal guidelines.
- Serve as a liaison between home and school, building strong relationships with families.
- Connect families to community resources, social services, and wraparound supports such as housing, healthcare, food assistance, and mental health services.
- Assist families in navigating systems and accessing services that remove barriers to student learning.
- Coordinate with parish ministries, community agencies, and service providers to support holistic family needs.
- Uphold the values and mission of the Catholic Church in all interactions and programming.
- Participate in schoolwide events, professional development, and student support team meetings.
- Maintain compliance with all school, Archdiocesan, and state regulations related to student support services.
- Other duties as assigned by the principal
