Parent Educator - Lindbergh Early Childhood Education
Personal Visits:
Parent Educator - Lindbergh Early Childhood Education
- 12-month schedule
- Part-time position, 17-25 hours per week
- Non-exempt
- Starting hourly rate: $29.44
- Required Missouri Certification: Parent Educator
Personal Visits:
- Provide developmental information, educational guidance and interactions with families using the current PATNC approved curriculum
- Administer developmental, vision and hearing screenings
- Submit weekly reports of contacts to supervisor
- Make additional contacts with high needs families as needed.
- Determine the number of contacts needed with each family and obtain approval from the PAT Coordinator.
- Plan and organize using event planner form, as required.
- Facilitate using appropriate materials, handouts and interactions with parents and children
- Evaluate meeting through attendance and parent participation
- Be proficient in administration of ECDA approved screening instruments
- Keep accurate records of screening results and report these results to supervisor
- Participate in family’s transitions and collaboration with Special School District, First Steps or other agencies
- Distribute information regularly to local businesses, childcare centers, doctor’s offices etc.
- Present to local organizations
- Assist in sending press releases, articles, pictures to local newspapers, school newsletters
- Participate in district parades and festivals
- Document and report recruitment efforts monthly, as require
- Collaborate in development of flyers and handouts
- Maintain accurate current records on current data software including but not limited to: home visits, screening, resource to families, summary of service records and event forms, current within 24 hours of visit.
- Complete Life Skills Progression family evaluations as needed.
- Document goals for each family.
- Document Resources for each family
- Document referrals to First Steps and ECSE for families as needed
- Attending required PATNC required training.
- Participate in re-certification of certificates for DESE and LECE.
- Attend required professional development for LECE.
- High school diploma or GED (or equivalent degree outside the United States)
- Two years’ previous supervised work experience with young children and/or parents.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field preferred.
