Early Childhood Educational Diagnostician
2025-2026 School Year
Requires Certification as a School Counselor, School Psychological Examiner, School Psychologist or in special education issued by State board of Education; or Licensed Professional Counselor. Includes having a Master’s Degree in an appropriate area.
POSITION SUMMARY: Educational diagnosticians collaborate with schools and school psychologists/examiners to complete educational evaluations for students with suspected disabilities. This position includes individual testing with students and maintaining compliance with state and federal law. Educational diagnosticians will be expected to participate in developing initial IEPs for qualifying students.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Participate in district and state child find procedures.
- Administering and interpreting testing and conducting observations.
- Coordinating, scheduling, and attending all evaluations and eligibility staffings with school psychologists/examiners.
- Managing new referrals and transfers through the evaluation process.
- Reviewing existing data and assessing for all initial and follow up evaluations. Conferring with multiple disciplines regarding educational impact.
- Supporting the building level special education team.
- Developing initial IEPs.
- Complete necessary paperwork within given district/state timelines.
- Assist with professional development and training for staff.
- Performing other duties as necessary to support the mission and vision of Ferguson-Florissant Early Childhood Program.
