Social Studies Teacher – Alternative High School

About Us: Logos School is an alternative high school dedicated to supporting students who have struggled in traditional educational settings. We foster a student-centered, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and personal growth.
Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and adaptable Social Studies Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with diverse learners and a commitment to innovative teaching methods that make history and humanities relevant and engaging.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver engaging lessons tailored to students' needs.
  • Utilize creative and student-centered teaching strategies to foster curiosity and critical thinking.
  • Build strong relationships with students, providing mentorship and academic support.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create interdisciplinary learning experiences.
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in history, humanities, education, or a related field.
  • Teaching certification (or willingness to obtain certification). Special Education certification a plus.
  • Experience working with students in alternative or non-traditional settings is a plus.
  • Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.
