Job Description:
Looking for Learning Support Specialist to provide research-based interventions in math, reading, writing, and/or behavioral/ social emotional skills to students

Looking for Learning Support Specialist to provide research-based interventions in math, reading, writing, and/or behavioral/ social emotional skills to students
- Communication - communicate with teachers, student support staff, administrators and parents in a productive and collaborative manner to support student learning
- Interventions - develop, support teachers in administering, or directly implement interventions for students as needed and keep data on progress monitoring
- Case-management - Assist school staff in understanding the impact of students’ educational disabilities and/or academic and social-emotional weaknesses, develop a school-based plan of support and consistently monitor it, meet with the team
- Tiered support system - participate in the development of tiered support system for academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support services, working closely with the school administration
- Data Teams - administer and keep benchmarking data collection, participate in data team meetings, review all benchmarking data with administrators, teachers and relevant staff
- Parent Resources - maintain a bank of resources to share with parents when students require outside support and assist in supporting parents navigating said resources
- Behavioral/ Social-emotional - Work together with mental health professionals in supporting behavioral and social emotional needs of students
- The Learning Support Specialist will report to Principals
Skill/Experience Requirements:
- To do this job effectively, candidate will need strong communication and empathy skills
- Extensive experience in the field of Education and/or Special Education is a must - minimum of 8 years, 10+ years is preferred
- Understanding of and experience with best-practice instructional methods (reading, math, executive functioning, behavior, social skills, etc.) and the creation and implementation of modifications and accommodations
- Certification in LETRS, Orton-Gillingham, and/or Wilson Reading System preferred

- Morning Part-Time Positions’ Hours
- Mondays - Thursdays, 8:15am - 12:15pm
- Fridays, 8:15am - 11:35am
- Afternoon Part-Time Positions’ Hours
- Mondays - Thursdays, 12:00pm - 4:15pm
- Fridays, 11:30am - 2:15pm
- Full-Time Positions’ Hours
- Mondays - Thursdays, 8:15am - 4:15pm
- Fridays, 8:15am - 2:15pm
- Part-Time Pay range: $20,000 - $24,000 pending experience
- Full-Time Pay Range: $40,000 - $48,000 pending experience
