Job Description:
The Soulard School, a small public charter school in St. Louis City, is seeking a part-time Elementary classroom and student aide to join our school community for the 2025-26 school year. This role would provide general assistance to classrooms and help supervise recesses. This position would also include scheduled one-on-one support to students in the classroom with special education needs. Position would be a set weekly schedule of 20-29 hours/week.

Major Responsibilities
- Support classroom and/or “extended core” teachers - PE, Studio Art, Performing Arts/Strings, Nutrition and STEAM.
- Provide supervision during daily recess and lunches.
- Provide individualized support for students with special education needs within the regular classroom.
- Collaborate with Special Education Coordinator and classroom teachers to ensure that the student(s) make(s) progress toward academic, behavioral and social goals as established in an IEP.
- Collect data and follow protocols for student(s) as directed by the Special Education Coordinator.
- College degree and experience in elementary setting preferred
- Passing score on Paraprofessional Assessment test, or documentation of 60+ hours of college credit required.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Warm and supportive attitude and disposition toward working with children and their families.
- Reliable in attendance.
- Willing to accept supervision from administrators in order to improve work performance.
- Have excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Physically able to perform the job of a teacher of young children.
General Pay and Contract Provisions
- Hourly position with set weekly schedule of 20-29 hours/week depending on availability and duties, with hours primarily 11:00-3:30.
- School year begins 8/18/25, PD days begin 8/6/25.
- Hourly rate depending on experience, $20-22/hour.
- Position includes paid time off.
