Major Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Special Education Coordinator, sped staff and classroom teachers to ensure that students receive the instructional minutes established in their IEPs.
- Plan, execute and document instruction for students grades K-5th.
- Provide instruction that is evidence-based and ties to regular classroom instruction.
- Create a positive educational climate for students to learn in.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with families, as well as strong communication between home and school.
- Attend school events as specified in the teacher contract.
- Develop positive relationships with colleagues and peers.
- A teaching degree in elementary education or special education and at least one year of experience teaching experience in an elementary setting (public or nonpublic).
- Missouri State teacher certification in special education (or dual certified)
Required Skills and Abilities
- Warm and supportive attitude and disposition toward working with children and their families.
- Reliable in attendance.
- Willing to accept supervision in order to improve work performance.
- Have excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Physically able to perform the job of a teacher of young children.
General Pay and Contract Provisions
- 29 hour work week with hours to be determined between 8:00-3:30.
- School year schedule beginning 8/18/25, with PD beginning 8/6/25.
- Hourly pay ranging from $30-$35/hour depending on qualifications and experience
