POSITION TITLE: Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Facilitator
DEPARTMENT:  Student Services 
REPORTS TO:  Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
STATUS: Full-Time, Teacher’s Contract (with an additional 8 Summer Days Stipended)

POSITION SUMMARY  

The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Facilitator position supports Parkway school staff, leaders, and community members within the school district boundaries. The facilitator provides guidance and coaching to ensure equity for all students within the Parkway School District and upholds the Educational Equity Policy, Educational Equity Procedures, and the recommendations of the Equity Task Force. This position fosters a diverse, equitable, and inclusive community while supporting teachers and staff to address issues and opportunities that impede student learning and feelings of belonging. This position provides leadership in systemic equity and instructional practices.
 
SPHERE AND SCOPE OF INFLUENCE 
This position requires technical literacy and competence. This position assists in multiple aspects of the organization and has a district-wide impact. Working relationships will include other district personnel, administrators, school personnel, community members, and families.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES  
  • Support the work required to uphold the district’s Educational Equity Policy, Educational Procedures, and Equity Task Force Recommendations
  • Serves as a resource for leaders and staff in the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion best practices across departments and schools
  • Develop, curate, and disseminate resources and training to school leaders, staff, and community members on best practices generated from scholarly research 
  • Lead the creation of spaces that foster community dialogue, including family affinity groups, community conversations, and advisory groups 
  • Partnering with school leaders and community members on data-driven responses to barriers to inclusive school cultures. 
  • Support mechanisms that elevate the voices of students and families of color for input and leadership in key decision-making processes
  • Enhance the availability of culturally responsive practices and modalities that honor the lived experiences of all students and families. 
  • Provide eight days of summer development or district support
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Master’s degree or higher in a related or educational field
  • A minimum of three years in a school setting
  • Strong background knowledge of global, cultural, and social issues
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with staff, students, and community members
  • Experience facilitating adult development with diverse audiences
  • Possess the ability to develop and support continuous improvement principles utilizing a systemic approach and data for decision-making
  • Knowledge and ability to use appropriate technology, including but not limited to relevant software and presentation devices
  • Outstanding professionalism, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy development across all organizational levels
  • Mobility required to travel to schools during the school day
