Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech and Language Pathologist to join our team in a school setting. The ideal candidate will provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for students with speech and language disorders. This role also includes school-related responsibilities related to supervision during lunch, recess, or morning/afternoon activities, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to identify students' speech and language needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for students.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student progress.
- Provide direct therapy services to students in individual and group settings.
- Monitor and document student progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of educational goals.
- Supervise students during lunch, recess, or morning/afternoon activities as needed.
- Provide training and support to staff on speech and language development and strategies.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders.
- Valid state licensure and certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Experience working in a school setting is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators and support staff.
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Skills:
- Excellent assessment and diagnostic skills.
- Proficient in developing and implementing therapy plans.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to engage and motivate students.
- Knowledge of current best practices in speech and language therapy.
