Cornerstones of Care is a mental and behavioral health nonprofit certified in trauma-informed care that provides evidence-based prevention, intervention, treatment, and support services to help children and families improve their safety and health by making positive changes in their lives. Each year, our team empowers children and families in Kansas, Missouri, and beyond through three key service areas:

  • Education & Community Trainings
We are seeking an Educational Liaison to join our team.  Your role will work as an advocate between children and youth, child welfare professionals, court professionals, caregivers, and educational providers to ensure the educational needs of each child are being met. The Liaison will serve as an agency expert in special education services and provide consultation and training to Kansas foster care staff on an as-needed basis. As a member of the Foster Care Department, you will work with other team members and report to our Manager of Clinical Utilization Team.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Assists the child’s case team in the completion of special education documentation for the purpose of ensuring services are being provided to the child in compliance with established Kansas guidelines, rules, laws and regulations as well as DCF policy and procedures
  • Collaborates with a variety of special education staff throughout the state of Kansas for the purpose of advocation for a child’s educational needs to be met in their designated academic environment
  • Coordinates program components, support needs and material as assigned for the purpose of assisting foster care case management staff in meeting policy expectations regarding the Best Interest Determination
  • Maintains a variety of manual and electronic files and/or records for the purpose of providing up- to-date reference and complying with DCF requirements and established guidelines
WHAT YOU WILL BRING:
Our ideal candidate will have previous relevant experience in the area related to special education and the following:
  • Bachelor’s degree in special education or related field. Master’s degree is preferred
  • At least 21 years of age and pass background check, physical and drug screening
  • A valid driver’s license, proof of current vehicle insurance and reliable transportation
Starting Salary: $46,300 (Annually)
