Duchesne High School is a college-preparatory Catholic High School located in St. Charles, MO.
Our mission is to educate the individual student as a whole person: mind, body and spirit.
Duchesne currently has an opening for a Learning Consultant. This candidate must be willing to
support Duchesne's mission within the context of a rigorous college prep curriculum in order to
promote physical and emotional well-being, along with academic success. This person must
possess a high level of professional integrity, and understanding of inclusive education,
knowledge of the evaluation process, and the skills necessary to build a collaborative network
of support services for students with mild medical and academic diagnoses.

Responsibilities would include:
  • Obtain appropriate and pertinent information regarding students' specific special needs
  • Create a learning plan based on IEP/504/psychoeducational evaluations and
  • communicate students' specific needs to teachers and other school personnel in a
  • supportive manner
  • Serve as a resource to parents and students
  • Work seamlessly with School Counselors and other Learning Consultant in the
  • Counseling department
  • Act as a liaison with the St. Charles School District, including preparing for and attending
  • IEP m e e t i n g s
  • Establish/ maintain positive relationships with teachers, students and families with
  • frequent communication
  • Manage caseload of special needs students with frequent 1:1 meetings
  • Offer academic support to struggling students (with and without a learning plan)
  • Teach Success Skills classes
C a n d i d a t e  m i n i m u m  r e q u i r e m e n t s :
  • Proven success with adolescents with an understanding of human
  • development/behavior
  • Strong desire to guide students to success
  • Enthusiastic and encouraging attitude
  • BA in SPED or related field (can be discussed)
  • Self-motivated and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work with others in a supportive and honest manner
