INSTRUCTIONAL LEADERSHIP:
- Demonstrates appropriate preparation for instruction.

- Implements instructional objectives effectively.
- Demonstrates knowledge of subject matter.
- Uses a variety of teaching materials.
- Uses instructional time effectively.
- Demonstrates ability to motivate students.

CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT:
- Organizes classroom environment to promote learning.
- Manages student behavior in constructive manner.
INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
- Demonstrates positive interpersonal relations with students, staff and parents/patrons.
PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participates in professional growth activities.
- Follows policies and procedures of the school district.
- Assumes responsibilities outside of the classroom as they relate to school.
- Demonstrates a sense of professional responsibility.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Hold a current Missouri State Teaching Certificate.
- Hold a current Missouri Special Reading K-12 certificate.
- Have a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree, preferably a Master's Degree.
- Have a broad knowledge of reading programs, strategies, and current best practices.
- The ability to serve in the role as reading/language resource.
- Such alternatives as the board may find appropriate and acceptable.
- Successful completion of background check by Human Resources.
Physical Demands
- Exerts 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or
- Exerts 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or
- Prolonged periods of working on a computer.
- Sufficient vision to read printed material, see distant objects with clarity, and identify and distinguish objects.
- Sufficient hearing to hear conversations in person and on the telephone, and hear sounds clearly up to 20 feet.
- Ability to speak in an understandable voice with sufficient volume to be heard in normal conversation and on the telephone, and in addressing groups.
- Requires occasional or frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, and reaching for extended periods of time.
- The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and is generally a hazard free environment.
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the school and other facilities as needed.
