Position Summary:
The School Kitchen Specialist is responsible for the preparation and serving of breakfast and lunch to elementary school students, ensuring that meals are plated, delivered to classrooms, and cleaned up efficiently. This role also includes maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen. The ideal candidate should be reliable, organized, and committed to creating a safe and pleasant dining experience for our students. The hours are 10:15am- 2:15pm.

Key Responsibilities:
Meal Preparation and Plating:
- Assist in the preparation and plating of breakfast and lunch meals according to the school's menu and portion sizes.
- Ensure that meals are visually appealing and meet food safety standards.
- Transport plated meals to classrooms, ensuring timely and safe delivery.
- Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor while interacting with students and staff.
- Clean and sanitize work areas, dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment to maintain a hygienic environment.
- Follow sanitation and safety guidelines to prevent cross-contamination.
- Assist with the organization and storage of kitchen supplies, ingredients, and equipment.
- Keep the kitchen area tidy and well-maintained throughout the shift.
- Assist in the preparation of breakfast items for the following day, including portioning and labeling as needed.
- Follow all food safety, health, and safety regulations as outlined by the school and local authorities.
- Maintain accurate records of meal quantities and report any discrepancies to the supervisor.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in food service or meal preparation is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to follow instructions and adapt to changing tasks.
- The ability to lift and carry items up to 30 pounds.
- Standing, bending, and walking for extended periods.
- Tolerance for exposure to kitchen-related odors and temperatures.
