The Rockwood School District is seeking an outstanding administrator for the position of Director of Educational Access.
- Collaborate with school and department leaders to ensure that all students have equitable access to educational opportunities and resources.
- Partner with curriculum developers to integrate culturally responsive teaching practices and ensure diverse perspectives are represented in instructional materials.
- Work with building leadership to develop and empower student leaders in matters related to access, equity, and inclusion.
- Serve as a resource for faculty and staff, providing guidance and support to meet the academic, emotional, and social needs of students with equity and access challenges.
- Facilitate restorative conversations to resolve conflicts, build relationships, and foster a positive school climate focused on dignity and belonging.
- Coordinate the district's participation in the VTS Program.
- Support alternative education programs, ensuring students who require non-traditional learning environments have access to high-quality instruction and support services.
- Plan and implement professional development opportunities for staff focused on equity, access, restorative practices, and culturally responsive instruction.
- Support teachers and administrators with research-based strategies to close the academic achievement gap and promote student success.
- Master’s degree; 3-5 years’ experience in education setting with in-depth preparation in administration, social work, counseling, or teaching.
- Prefer Missouri School Leader certification.
- Must demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the access and equity programs in schools.
- Three to five years’ experience involving educational leadership, decision making, management, and long-range planning.
- Knowledge or experience in working with families and students.
- Knowledge of current educational trends and research in education with particular focus on student achievement.
