Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Teaches skills in proper vocal technique, sight reading, and explorations in choral music (chorus, choir, choral ensemble) to secondary students. Utilizes course study adopted by the Board of Education and other appropriate learning activities.
- Serves as the primary ensemble accompanist for both the Lebanon High School and Lebanon Middle School programs for both concerts and contests.
- Accompany Lebanon High School solo and ensemble events at MSHSAA district and state level festivals along with other agreed upon festivals and contests.
- Accompany Lebanon Middle School solo and ensemble events at agreed upon festivals and contests.
- Assists with all aspects of the choral programs at both Lebanon High School and Lebanon Middle School.
- Assists with logistical and managerial responsibilities associated with the Lebanon R3 choral program.
- Specific teaching assignments and duties will be collaboratively determined by the vocal music teachers, performing arts department head and administrators.
- Provide private and ensemble instruction to students preparing for All District and All State auditions as well as solo and ensemble festivals.
- Cooperates with the choir staff in providing music for school assemblies and productions, graduation ceremonies, and civic functions.
- Work alongside the choir staff to select and requisition books, equipment, and instructional aids; maintain required inventory records.
- Assist with student supervision both during school hours and at all choir events
- Communicate in a timely and effective manner with parents, school counselors, administration and other relevant parties on student progress.
- Participates in curriculum and other developmental programs.
- Maintains professional competence through in-service education provided by the district, and in self-selected professional growth activities related to instrumental music.
