Senior Accounting and Data Analyst - Business Office
Position Summary:
The Senior Accounting and Data Analyst plays a key role in supporting the district’s financial operations and compliance reporting. This position is responsible for independently managing confidential accounting tasks related to the district’s budgeting, financial reporting, and accounting functions. In addition, the role coordinates and submits required state and federal compliance data, ensuring accuracy and adherence to all regulations.
The Senior Accounting and Data Analyst reports directly to the Director of Finance and works closely with the Chief Financial Officer, providing critical support and analysis to guide financial decision-making and maintain fiscal integrity.

The Senior Accounting and Data Analyst reports directly to the Director of Finance and works closely with the Chief Financial Officer, providing critical support and analysis to guide financial decision-making and maintain fiscal integrity.
Pay Classification and Schedule:
- Position Code CSL: $68,130 - $117,230
- Salary is determined based on years of experience
- 12-month/260-day position
- Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Position Description/Responsibilities:
- Approval of purchase orders and direct pay requisitions. This includes ensuring requests are within the parameters of the budget, requests adhere to Board policy and procedures, and general ledger account classifications are recorded in accordance with the Missouri Financial Accounting Manual.
- Coordinates, in partnership with the CFO, all district RFBs (formal bids), RFPs (proposals), and RFQs (qualifications), ensuring that the district bid process, including vendor selection, is administered in compliance with state statutes and Board of Education policies.
- Prepares monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
- Analyzes data for accuracy and identify issues that should be brought to the attention of the Director of Finance.
- Responsible for coordinating and submitting all state and federal compliance data (core data).
- Reviews and records recurring journal entries.
- Assists with the preparation for the district’s annual audit
- Works with the sale and disposal of surplus property.
- Assists in preparing an accounting manual documenting all District accounting processes and workflow.
- Provides training and support on financial processes and software to district personnel.
- Other duties as assigned
Desired Candidate Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Business with an emphasis in accounting
- Three or more years of accounting and/or relevant experience
- Experience working with and reconciling data from a variety of sources and ensuring accuracy
- Experience monitoring internal controls
- Experience working in advanced computer ledger and data systems
- Advanced working knowledge of Excel and Google Sheets
- Exercises good judgment in applying and interpreting complex rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Prior experience in an educational setting and with submittal of state and federal compliance data preferred
