The Whitfield School, an innovative educational institution for students in grades 6-12, seeks a Girls Varsity Volleyball Head Coach to join a community that emphasizes college prep through character education. This part time, season-specific position is for the 2025-2026 school year with a start date of August 11, 2025.
We believe that participation in athletics and extracurricular activities has a positive effect on student success and is an important area for student learning. Our commitment to a participation philosophy for all athletic programs provides all students with the opportunity to achieve their goals both on and off the field.
Responsibilities include:

Responsibilities include:
- Coach individual participants in the skills necessary for achievement in girls volleyball
- Coordinate all aspects of girls varsity volleyball, including but not limited to practices and games
- Assume responsibility for the regulations under MSHSAA and Title IX
- Maintain responsibility for maintenance and proper utilization of facilities
- Promote and maintain strong parental, community, and alumni/ae involvement
- Collaborate with our community of coaches, athletes, and families
- Assist in selecting, assigning, and evaluating all activity personnel for girls volleyball
- Establish the performance criteria for participation in an interscholastic activity
- Recommend purchase of equipment, supplies, and uniforms
- Maintain appropriate and accurate records for each activity
- Prioritize the safety, conduct, and general welfare of students
- Maintain high standards of student conduct
- Inventory and maintain equipment
- Prepare appropriate reports as required by the District and the State
- Maintain confidentiality, unquestionable integrity
- Maintain regular attendance
- Have a bachelor’s degree
- Possess multiple years of coaching experience with high school students and a background in education
