JOB TITLE: Middle School Technology and Project Lead the Way/Gateway Teacher
Position Summary: Provides classroom instruction for middle school technology, as well as Project Lead the Way/Gateway courses. PLTW/Gateway is a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) program that exposes students to hands-on activities, projects, and problem-based learning that have real world application.

EXAMPLE (S) of WORK PERFORMED:
- Teaches a variety of technology courses that may include robotics, video production, web design, and computer literacy
- Teaches PLTW/Gateway courses that may include Design and Modeling, Automation and Robotics, Energy and the Environment, Flight and Space, Science of Technology, Magic of Electrons, Green Architecture, and Medical Detectives
- Implements curriculum content/objectives that emphasizes hands-on, project-based learning
- Expands the STEM initiative at the middle school level, especially reaching out to underrepresented groups
- Embeds relevant technological resources
- Demonstrates appropriate long and short-term preparation for classroom instruction.
- Holds high expectations for all students and sees themselves as facilitators of student learning.
- Organizes and uses a variety of teaching techniques, strategies, materials, and technology to maximize the learning of each child, individually and in group settings.
- Assesses student progress, provides students and parents with specific feedback, and uses the results to adjust instruction as needed.
- Provides opportunities for academic support and challenge.
- Takes responsibility for teaching the district curriculum as outlined in the curriculum documents.
- Establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units and projects and communicates these objectives to students.
