Atlas Elementary is adding an additional 120+ students a year with additional grade levels and class sections. Join our growing school and growing team! 

Key Responsibilities

Instructional Excellence
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons that meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Utilize Atlas' curriculum frameworks, such as CKLA and Module Lessons, to support rigorous, interdisciplinary, and hands-on learning experiences.
  • Differentiate instruction to ensure all students, including those with IEPs, can access the curriculum and achieve grade-level goals.
  • Monitor and assess student progress using formative and summative assessments to inform instruction and guide interventions.
  • Incorporate real-world and place-based learning experiences into lessons to make learning meaningful and relevant.
Student Engagement and Whole-Child Development
  • Build strong, supportive relationships with students to foster a sense of belonging and engagement in the classroom.
  • Implement classroom management strategies aligned with Atlas' Responsive Classroom approach, creating a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment.
  • Support the social-emotional development of students by teaching SEL skills and modeling positive behavior.
  • Actively engage students in collaborative and independent learning opportunities, encouraging critical and creative thinking.
Collaboration and Teamwork
  • Collaborate with grade-level teammates, assistant teachers, and support staff to ensure consistency and alignment across classrooms.
  • Participate in regular data meetings to analyze student performance and design targeted interventions as needed.
  • Partner with interventionists, special education teachers, and other support staff to provide a multi-tiered system of support (MTSS) for students.
  • Contribute to school-wide initiatives, committees, and professional learning communities, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Family and Community Partnerships
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with families by maintaining regular, clear, and culturally responsive communication about student progress, classroom activities, and school events.
  • Partner with families to support students' academic and social-emotional development, leveraging their input and collaboration.
  • Actively participate in family engagement events and conferences to strengthen school-family connections.
  • Utilize platforms such as Class Dojo to communicate with families.
Professional Growth and Reflection
  • Engage in ongoing professional development, including in-house training sessions, to deepen understanding of curriculum and instructional best practices.
  • Participate in coaching cycles with instructional leaders, incorporating feedback to refine teaching practices.
  • Reflect on personal teaching effectiveness through student outcomes, self-assessment, and feedback from peers and leaders.
  • Stay informed of educational trends, best practices, and research to continuously improve teaching strategies.
Operational Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including attendance, grades, and progress reports, in accordance with school policies.
  • Ensure classroom routines and procedures are efficient and align with school-wide expectations.
  • Assist with school duties outside of the classroom (e.g., lunch supervision, dismissal, or arrival) as part of the collective responsibility to maintain a safe and supportive school environment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
  • Valid teaching certification.
  • Prior classroom teaching experience, preferably in an elementary setting, preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of instructional practices, data-driven decision-making, and SEL strategies.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
