Job Description:
                           The Pleasant Hill School District is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of:
                                                                      Elementary Music Teacher
                                                                                   (Grades 5-6)
 

 Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree with a valid Missouri Teaching Certificate. 
  • Experience preferred, but not required.       
  • Additional Content Certifications (Preferred or Willing to Obtain)

The successful candidate will:

• ·  plan and implement a music program appropriate for primary age students
• ·  demonstrate a solid understanding of music concepts for each grade level
• ·  proactively plan for instruction that includes lessons that are engaging and rigorous
• ·  work collaboratively to plan and support STEAM units aligned with grade level curriculum
• ·  develop and direct school musicals and concerts for public performance
• ·  be willing to develop and provide before and after school choir opportunities
• ·  enforce and uphold school’s values, policies, and culture
• ·  engage in frequent and open collaborative conversations with colleagues including other vocal music instructors within the District
• ·  be a proactive communicator with parents and colleagues
• ·  demonstrate effective classroom management strategies
• ·  display and employ enthusiasm for teaching and expect students to enjoy learning

Length of contract: 9.25 month
